About:

IGNITE Incubation Centre is a section 8 not-for-profit organization established in the flourishing campus of Silver Oak University and spread over an area of 20,000 sq ft. IGNITE is registered as a Nodal Institute with the Government of Gujarat. IGNITE is also supported by Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) by the Education Dept. of Govt. of Gujarat.

IGNITE Incubator moves forward with the goal of bringing socially impactful startup ideas to life and supporting ideas from various fields such as Agriculture, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, IT service-based startups among others. One of our primary goals is to spread awareness about the startup ecosystem and possibilities among the students of Engineering and Management. IGNITE hosts an environment which is innovation-driven and welcoming to determined innovators.

Till date, we have 100+ startups incubated under ‘Scheme for Assistance to Startup/Innovation’ by the Government of Gujarat and under SSIP. Out of these incubated startups, 50+ startups have been supported financially. We have an active network of 40+ mentors that have signed an MoU with us for providing their guidance to startups that choose IGNITE for incubation. These mentors are from various relevant fields and we intend on keeping this list always expanding.

Policies:

Currently, IGNITE provides funding to start-up's via two policies:

1. Startup/Innovation Policy by Government of Gujarat (SAS)
   IGNITE Incubation Centre is approved as a Nodal Institute under the FR: Gujarat Industrial Policy 2015-Scheme for Assistance for Startups/Innovation
2. Student Startup And Innovation Policy (SSIP)
   The Student Startup & Innovation Policy of the Government of Gujarat aims to create an integrated, state-wide, university-based innovation ecosystem to support innovation and ideas of young students and provide a conducive environment for the optimum harnessing of their creative pursuit.

Eligibility Criteria:

Registered Startup Idea:

• The idea/startup should be in the idea-to-PoC development stage or have a PoC ready
• The startup should be in the prototype/MVP stage or scaling stage.
• The startup should not be formed through the splitting up or reconstruction of an existing business.

Non Registered Startup Idea:

• The idea/startup must be dedicated to innovating, developing, or improving products, processes, or services.
• It should possess a unique selling proposition.
• The business model of the idea/startup should be scalable, demonstrating high potential for employment generation or wealth creation.
• The startup should be registered as a private limited, LLP, or partnership company/proprietorship.
• The startup's date of incorporation should not exceed 5 years.
• The turnover of the startup for any financial year since incorporation should not have surpassed Rs. 50crores.
• The startup should be actively working on innovating, developing, or improving products, processes, or services.
